Collection of programmes from concerts given annually in memory of General John Reid, founder of the Chair of Music at the University of Edinburgh, on or around his birthday on 13 February, conducted by Charles Hallé (venue not named). First Commemorative Concert held in 1841. Programmes contain detailed analytical notes with musical examples, song texts and translations, and names of all soloists and orchestral players. Each volume contains an MS index (by composer) of works performed.
