Description
A collection of programmes for concert and dramatic performances given at the London International College, Spring Grove between 1871 and 1875, arranged chronologically in a single bound volume.

11 April 1871: a two-part performance comprising solo and ensemble works for voices and pianos (include an opening and closing piece for eight hands on two pianos), the majority of the music by Mendelssohn and J. H. Gordon (with handwritten annotations providing further information about the repertory).

8 December 1871: two-act concert including solo and ensemble music for voices and pianos, much of it by English and Italian composers. The programme lists the names of the soloists and refers to the involvement of 'The College Singing Class'. There are also a number of handwritten annotations regarding encores.

15 December 1871: A Century of English Poetry, the Spring Grove Literary and Musical Society Second Lecture, given by W. Scott Dalgleish, interspersed with four solo songs by English composers (handbill with words).

10 July 1872: Exhibition Day, being a single act of vocal music in English, Greek, German, Latin, Italian and French plus piano music for 2, 4 and 8 hands (handbill containing detailed information regarding the soloists/students involved).

14 December 1872: Dramatic Entertainment, International College Dramatic Club, being a presentation of extracts (largely from Shakespeare), with incidental music including overtures to Rossini, Le Barbier de Seville and Tancredi, conducted by Herr Arnold (with detailed information regarding the performers and occasional annotations regarding corrections to the printed programmes).

11 December 1873: Matinee Musicale, under the direction of Mr J. Hart Gordon, including J.F. Barnett, Ancient Mariner.

12 December 1873: Dramatic Entertainment, International College Dramatic Club, being a performance of extracts from three farces. The description of the music reads:
'In the course of the Evening, the Orchestra will play Selections of Music, under the direction of Herr ARNOLD'.

29 July 1874: Exhibition Day, being solo music for violin and piano followed by sets of English, Latin, French and German songs.

16 April 1875: Dramatic Entertainment, London International College Dramatic Club, being F.C. Burnand and Arthur Sullivan, The Contrabandista (a comic opera in Two Acts), following by a musical interlude and a two farces, directed by Herr C. Deichmann ('Chef d'Orchestra).
