Description
A collection of programmes and wordbooks for the Concerts of Ancient Music given during the seasons 1805-08 and 1810, held as five bound volumes.
Twelve performances were given each season at the New Rooms, Hanover Square, led by Mr [Franz] Cramer and conducted by Mr [Thomas] Greatorex. These were two-part vocal and choral concerts (including a significant number of extracts from Handel oratorios), typically with orchestral overtures at the beginning of each part.
Each volume begins with lists of the vocal soloists (see below), lists of the choral and orchestral ensembles and lists of the Subscribers for the season.
