Description
A programme and wordbook for the Eisteddvod and Cambrian Concert, held at the Argyll Rooms, London, on 6 May 1829.
The concert was a two-part performance of Cambrian vocal and choral music with some instrumental solos and an orchestral overture at the beginning of each act.
The programme begins with ‘Particulars of the Concert’, which includes a complete list of the orchestral ensemble and cites the following vocal and instrumental soloists.
Vocal: Miss Paton, Miss Love, Miss Betts, Miss Byfeld, Madame Stockhausen, Masters Smith and H. Watson; Mr Braham, Mr Broadhurst, Mr Collyer, Mr J. Smith, Mr Fitzwilliam, Mr Parry Jun and Mr J.O. Atkins.
Instrumental: Mrs Anderson (piano), Madame Stockhausen, Mr J. Parry jun. and Mr O. Davies (pedal harps) and Mr R. Roberts and Mr W. Prichard (Welsh harps).
The document includes an extensive list of the Patrons, Officers and Members for the event. There is also a printed Address, given by Griffith Jones (Hon. Sec.), which provides some context for the Royal Cambrian Institute, under whose auspices the event was given.
