Description
Programmes for five performances given at the Queen's Hall, London between 20 and 25 April 1914 as a Beethoven Festival, held as a bound volume.
The event was given in conjunction with the London Symphony Orchestra, conducuted by Henri Verbrugghen.
All programmes include words, Historical and Analytical Notes by F. Gilbert Webb (some with musical examples), and photographs of the principal performers.
20 April: Elena Gerhardt (vocal) and Frederic Lamond (piano).
21 April: Tilly Koenen (vocal) and Ernst von Dohnanyi (piano)
22 April: Paul Reimers (vocal) and Max Pauer (piano)
23 April: Anton van Rooy (vocal) and Efrem Zimbalist (violin)
25 April: Arthur Rubinstein (piano), including the Symphony No. 9 with Ada Forrest, Tilly Koenen, Paul Reimers and Anton van Rooy (vocal) and Leeds Philharmonic Chorus.
