Description
Souvenir Brochures for two concerts given by the Filmharmonic Society on 18 October 1980 and 16 November 1985 at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in aid of the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund.

Both documents include Introductory and biographical notes (with photographs), notes on the films from which the music is drawn, and notes on the principal institutions/companies upon which the focus of the concert falls.

18 October 1980: 10th Anniversary Concert, given by the National Philharmonic Orchestra, with composers Donald Sinden and Elaine Stritch. The concert was divided into three sections:
i) United Artists, 1919-80: Sixty Years of Cinema History, Fifty Years of Outstanding Movie Music (conducted by John Addison and Richard Leonard).
ii) Independent Television, 1955-80: the First Twenty Five Years (conducted by Geoff Love).
iii) From Close Encounters of the Third Kind 1977 to the Empire Strikes Back 1980 (scores composed and conducted by John Williams).

16 November 1985: Laughter and Music and Stars that Shine, a programme of music from films made by Thorn EMI Screen Entertainment and at Elstree Studios, introduced by Sir Richard Attenborough and given by the London Symphony Orchestra, the Stephen Hill Singers and the Fanfare Trumpeters of the Central Band of the Royal Air Force, conducted by Wing Commander Eric Banks, Stanley Black, John Gregory, John Scott and John Williams with Gemma Craven (vocal) and Margaret Fingerhut (piano).

Collections Overview
The Jerwood Library supports Trinity's mission to prepare informed performers of the highest calibre. Its core business is to provide all the information resources and music materials that students need to attain the high standard required by their courses. It is also a research library with collections of international significance, the most important of these being the Mander & Mitchenson Theatre Collection. The establishment of the Jerwood Library, which opened in September 2001, was made possible through the generosity of the Jerwood Foundation [www.jerwood.org.uk]. The Jerwood Library has three divisions: the main Jerwood Library, the Mander & Mitchenson Theatre Collection and the Centre for Young Musicians Library.
