Description
Programme and wordbook for Mademoiselle Jenny Lind's Concert, given on 27 November 1850 at the Musical Fund Hall, New York as the 34th Grand Concert.

This was a two-part performance of vocal (principally nineteenth-century operatic) repertory, given by Jenny Lind with Signori Perelli and Belletti. Also, orchestral overtures at the beginning of each act and a Fantasia on the Violin performed by Joseph Burke.

The performance also featured a 'first class orchestra … comprising the principal professional men of New York and the immediate vicinity', which included 60 performers, led by Burke and conducted by Julius Benedict.

The programme, which is lavishly decorated, concludes with a Sketch of the Life of Giovanni Belletti and a Sketch of the Life of P. C. Barnum. The words for the vocal extracts are presented both in the original language and in an English translation.
