Description
Programmes with words for the seventh, eighth and ninth Artisans’ Subscription Concerts, given by the Midland Musical Society at the Town Hall, Birmingham on 10 October and 15 December 1885 and 8 February 1886, conducted by Mr H. M. Stevenson.
The concerts on 10 October and 8 February both featured Mr J. Stimpson (organ). The vocal soloists are listed below.
10 October: Handel, Judas Maccabaeus, with Miss Lilian Mills, Mrs Payton, Mr Charles Banks and Mr John H. Stilliard.
15 December: Moore, Torfida (cantata) and a miscellaneous act, with Miss Fraser Brunner, Mr Charles Banks and Mr George Harris.
8 February: Haydn, Creation, with Miss Fraser Brunner, Mr Charles Banks and Mr George Harris.
