Description
Analytical programme for the first English performance of Dr Plewka-Plewczynski, Oratorium Symphonicum, Res Ultimae Quattuour (The Four Last Things), given on 30 May 1913 at the Queen’s Hall, Langham Place.
This performance was given by the London Symphony Orchestra and the Smallwood Metcalfe Choir, with Madame D’Onyszkiewicz (soprano), Mr Frederick Blamey (tenor) and Mr Humphrey Bishop (bass). It was conducted by the composer.
The programme includes a biographical note and a photograph of the composer/conductor as well as analytical notes, with musical examples and the text for the piece.
