Description
A bound volume containing a range of printed material relating to the Oxford University Musical Union (est. 1884) between 1887 and 1899, including programmes for the Festival Meetings and the Invitation Concert given to mark the close of the first decade of the Union's existence and programmes with words for further Invitation Concerts given between 1887 and 1899.
In addition to the concert programmes (listed below), the volume contains a number of printed announcements for the period January 1894 to October 1898. These contain details of the Union's activity for the term. Many of them also provide financial summaries for the preceding term
All concerts combined chamber music (principally music for string quartet) with vocal solos. With the exception of that for the Festival Meetings, all programmes contain words. The majority also provide information about the Committee and/or Stewards for the Union. The programme for 1887 includes extended historical and analytical notes (with musical examples) and is bound at the end of the volume.

30 April and 1 May 1895, [no venue]: Festival Meetings, conducted by Mr F. C. Woods (single document, with lists of the choral and instrumental ensembles). The second concert concluded with Mendelssohn, To the Sons of Art, conducted by Mr J. H. Mee.
