Description
Four loose programmes for performances given at the Picture Gallery, 40 Brunswick Square (Foundling Museum) in 1939, 2005 and 2006.
25 January 1939: programme and wordbook, with brief historical notes and plot synopsis, for Handel, Theodora, given to mark the Bi-Centenary of the Foundling Hospital by Mabel Ritchie, Beatrice Andrews, Esther Hulbert, Ailwyn Best and Kenneth Ellis (vocal), conducted by Hubert Langley. This document is held with a press cutting and a ticket.
24 February 2005: two copies of a programme with words and biographical notes for a Handel [320th] Birthday Concert, with musical tributes performed by Mr Mark Padmore (vocal) and Laurence Cummings (harpsichord).
6 July 2006: programme with notes (including biographical notes) for James Bowman in [Handel], Giulio Cesare: an evening of music from London in the 1720s.
14 [12 – corrected] September [2006]: flyer and programme with words and notes for a Chamber Concert, to include the world premiere of John Webb, Sleep, baby, sleep (commissioned by the Foundling Musuem), with Elizabeth Poole (soprano), Joe McHardy (harpsichord), Lesley Holliday (flute), Colin Coleman (violin) and Nicholas Stringfellow (cello).
