Description
A collection of programmes and wordbooks for two concerts, given at the Queen's Hall, Langham Place on 17 June [1895] and 7 December [1897], arranged chronologically as part of a tracted volume.
17 June [1895]: Third Annual Grand Morning Concert, organized by the Foreign Press Association in London, in Aid of Funds for the Relief of Distressed Foreign Artistes in England, with Miss Ella Russell, Miss Sylvia Rita, Miss Aimee Loidore, Mademoiselle Jeanne Douste, Mademoiselle Zelie de Lussan, Senor Guetary, Mr Herbert Grover, Mr Andrew Black, Mr Alfred and Mr Jules Cottin (vocal), Mademoiselle Chaminade (piano), Herr Willy Burmester (violin) and Monsieur Joseph Hollman (cello), conducted by Mr W. Ganz, Miss Vera Leslie, Mr Raphael Roche and Signor Carlo Ducci. This was two-part concert of vocal and instrumental solos, including a number of Recitations. The programme includes a large amount of material regarding Erard pianos, including advertisements and transcriptions of press cuttings taken from the Lady’s Pictorial and the Sunday Times, both from 1895.
7 December [1897]: Two Historical Pianoforte Recitals no.1, given by Herr Richard Buchmayer, with Miss Kirkby Lunn (vocal) (with extensive historical and biographical notes and a programme for the second performance of the series, to be given on 15 December [1897] at the same venue).
