Menges, Isolde
Short Biography: Isolde Menges (1893-1976). Violinist and teacher. Brother of Herbert Menges (conductor). Married Tod Boyd (composer) in 1919. London debut as soloist in 1913. Tours included Germany, Holland and the USA. Participated in War-time National Gallery concerts. Formed Menges String Quartet in 1931. Teacher at the Royal College of Music from 1931. After 1945, devoted her time cheifly to teaching.
